First, try to pour cold water on the stained area and blot it with a cloth. Repeat the process until no more red wine can be removed. Finally, if the stain remains on the carpet, use a carpet stain remover according to the instructions.
In this case you can either allow the chocolate to harden in order to scrape the excess chocolate later on with a blunt knife and eliminate the entire stain under the hot water or do just the opposite, i.e. to remove as much chocolate as possible before it hardens and clean the stain using the solution prepared from household ammonia mixed with water in 1:5 ratio.
Mustard contains turmeric, a yellow dye, which bonds well with fabrics and if not treated immediately, might be next to impossible to remove. Pick up any excess spill with a dull knife. Mix one teaspoon of liquid dish detergent with two cups of warm water and let it rest over the stained area for five minutes. Blot gently and rinse the carpet with warm water. Vacuum the residue.
If that didn't work prepare the hydrogen peroxide solution that includes one tablespoon of hydrogen peroxide and three tablespoons of warm water. Let it rest for 30 minutes, but watch for loss of color. Cover the stain with a towel to avoid the loss of chemical properties. Again, rinse the stain with warm water and vacuum the excess.
Vinyl is a strong thermoplastic material that has many functions, but in this article we will address vinyl upholstery fabrics that are used to cover furniture. For regular cleaning wash vinyl furnishings with mild detergent and water, but for hard to remove substances such as oil paint, tar, grease, ink, and cosmetics apply a white cloth soaked in synthetic turpentine.
Leather costs more than cloth or other fabrics used to cover furniture or car seats, but it lasts longer than any other textiles. Attacking stains on leather upholstery is made easy with suitable cleaners, especially if you treat the stains the moment they appear. The best household solution for leather cleaning is warm water mixed with soap containing neutral pH factor (not a detergent).
Most types of fabric in upholstered furniture can be shampooed unless they have a "Dry Clean Only" tag. Fabrics like linen, nylon, cotton, acrylic, polyester, or acetate each require special treatment, so before you intend to clean it, determine the type of fabric in front of you. Commercial upholstery shampoos can do a good job, but you can also use a home-made solution made of ¼ cup of liquid dish or laundry detergent and 1 cup of warm water.
